Meet The Reindeer
Five minutes down the road form the Ice Hotel is a Sami reindeer farm where they offer tours and a chance to meet the reindeer. When you arrive at the Sami cabin, your guide takes you on a tour of the grounds while giving a lesson on Sami history and culture. Then it’s off to feeding the reindeer and it’s not what you think. They don’t just give you a handful of food to hand feed them, you will be asked to grab a huge bucket of food and dump it into a large feeder in the middle of their grazing area. The reindeer then walk up to it and you hang out with them while they eat. The reindeer are very docile animals and will allow you to get very close and occasionally pet them if you so desire.

The Tips
It is very cold and the entire tour is outside, so dress warm.
The bucket of Reindeer food is heavy, so be prepared to do some work while you’re there.
