Polar Plunge
After a dinner cruise on the Sampo Icebreaker, everyone goes down to the lower deck of the ship to put warm suits on and head outside to do the polar plunge into the Gulf of Bothnia. You swim and float around for about 10-15 minutes in the icy water right next to the ship and in the very path that the icebreaker broke through to pick you up.
The Tips
Be careful to not get water in the suit through the face mask.
When they tell you to try and stand up-do it, it’s fun if you can make it happen.
The suite is extremely warm, but make sure to thoroughly check for holes before you head outside-the water is very cold and the suit is not quick or easy to get out of.
