Train Through The Alps

There are some beautiful routes through Switzerland via train. One of the most famous routes is the Glacier Express which connects the two most popular mountain destinations, Zermatt and St. Moritz. During the scenic journey, which lasts about 8 hours, you pass through two cantons (states), 91 tunnels and cross 291 bridges including the Landwasser Viaduct.
If you are coming from Zurich and headed to Zermatt then you would take another route of the Glacier Express, which is about three hours in duration. All of the trains are clean and quite nice. The staff is extremely helpful in assisting with anything you need, including helping to find lost luggage if that happens.
