Huayna Picchu

An hour and a half climb up Huayna Picchu to take in the best views of Machu Picchu and the Andes that surround it. The hike is very steep and quite challenging, but totally worth it if you can make it to the top. Weather notwithstanding, the hike while challenging and long, is not nearly as dangerous as some pictures and websites would have you believe. After taking in the views, it’s another 45 minutes to hike back to the base of Machu Picchu where you can then tour the Inca city. Otherwise, you can hike another hour down to the Temple of the Moon (The Great Cavern), a mysterious Incan structure built inside of a cave.
